Very good cookbook.I've only tried 2 of the recipes so far, but they were both delicious. Steps are easy to follow and clearly written.The recipes are written to work with either a stove top (what I have) or electric pressure cooker.

First and foremost I want to say I must NOT be the target reader! This is a pretty good book great pictures and recipes look like they will work fine; however, I am a "fresh" cook whenever I can be. This is the main reason I ordered a pressure cooker. To speed up the sometimes time factor of cooking from scratch/fresh. Many of the recipes in the book require canned beans, canned tomatoes, frozen premade meatballs etc jarred spaghetti sauce. My purpose of the pressure cooker is to make these items where I can freeze or can them for use when needed. There a just a handful of these type recipes. If you are an experienced home cook, looking to use a pressure cooker to speed things up....this might not be the best book for you.

Have tried several recipes in this book since receiving it and my electric pressure cooker a month ago. I have since ordered another recipe book, but prefer this one because of the layout. Pictures and instructions are good and easy to follow. Doesn't usually require unusual or hard-to-find ingredients, although I don't usually have marmalade on hand, so I made it myself for the Orange Glazed Pork Chops recipe.The Orange Glazed Pork Chops pg 97 are wonderful -- tenderest pork I've ever eaten! Also the Perfected Pot Roast pg 41 can't be beat! I haven't tried the BBQ Beef Tips Pg 64 yet, but appreciate that there is an option to use prepared BBQ sauce, rather than taking the time to gather the ingredients, mix the mustard, Wor. sauce, br. sugar, garlic powder, etc.There are helpful "Make it Better" tips after each recipe, which make suggestions, such as substituting cream cheese in the place of mascarpone cheese, (which is good, b/c I've never heard of mascarpone cheese!) The Shrimp Alfredo pg 111 has a low-fat option. The recipes which call for alcohol have alternative suggestions; e.g.: use juice of 1 lemon to replace 1/4 cup dry white wine in the Chicken Fricassee pg 77.I plan on using this recipe book a lot!At the back of the book there are a few pages of Cook Times References, so you can use your own meat, beans, and pasta recipes and know how to long they need to cook.

If you *only* try the pot roast recipe, it's worth the price of admission. We haven't found anything we didn't like yet, but the pot roast is a recurring favorite, even while on the road in the RV! I do add the cabernet wine (as recommended) for its flavor, and I use unsalted beef broth since most fresh beef these days already has plenty...The "Perfected Pulled Pork" was made for our family beach house vacation this summer, and family members were literally calling dibs on any leftovers to have for the following day's lunch, while we were still eating dinner! (But I got back from the beach before they did.... Dibs!!!)

I like this cookbook because the recipes are made for normal people, like me. Cooking is not my favorite activity so when recipes call for out-of-the ordinary ingredients, I'm out-the-door. I bought this book after checking it out at my local library. The recipes looked do-able for my caliber of cooking skills so I purchased it here on Amazon. Tonight I tried the Orange Glazed Pork Chops. Check out my pictures and tell me what you think! I was afraid there would be an overload of orange, what with orange zest, orange juice, and orange marmalade. It came out moderately orangey, but not overpowering, per my husband who has low tolerance for tastes outside his normal comfort zone. He actually recommended that I make more of the glaze next time to have some on the side for dipping. The pork chops were tender and perfectly cooked. l'd like to give a shout-out to Amarals Market in Fall River, MA. Where else can you get 4 thick cut pork chops for $1.34 each?? It cost me $5.37 for 4, specially cut for me by the butcher. Think of all the money you can save by having home-cooked meals in no time in your pressure cooker. So healthy, so economical, so fast! What more can you ask for?I look foward to trying all of the recipes in this book to expand my repertoire. I may even get Bob Warden's other book, Slow Food Fast, if I like the majority of the recipes in this book. As I mentioned, I like that I can recognize the ingredients, I have them on hand, or I can get them easily at any store. The pictures are terrific and encourage me to give the recipes a try. This book hit the spot for me. You may like it as well if you've read this far!

Wow, Best Pressure Cooker book ever! I buy a ton of cookbooks and seldom make recipes as is... usually peruse and get ideas. I made a couple recipes from this Bob Warden book and everything turned out wonderful. I am also learning techniques for using the Instant Pot that I can adapt other recipes. I highly recommend this cookbook. And all the recipes use common ingredients and I can see myself making down the road.
